thermostat

am I blind?
can anyone tell me where I should be looking for a thermostat on a 1989
Sentra XE??
I followed some directions in a manual and it isn’t there.
I went from the Upper Radiator hose to what appeared to be a water outlet
but behind is NO thermostat.
if anyone has an answer I would appreciate an ASAP response.
I’m dying over here!!
thanks
scott

Quest pricing

Looked at Quests for the first time today. The dealer is selling new
ones at invoice price ("dead cost") and that was his FIRST offer.

Why are the deals ostensibly so good. Is something wrong with this
vehicle.

Any comments on comparisons to other vans, especially Toyota Sienna??

Thanks,

Hank

I'm leaving for a while

Well Ya’ll have fun…I’ve spend many hours helping people here and

problems as people couldn’t understand what I was saying and got
pissed.. now I share repair tips and get called an idiot.. I’m sure
nobody cares but this really pisses me off.. lets see how many posts
get a real answers if me and Wil don’t post here… The more I deal
with people, the more I realize that they suck… why did I get
insulted helping people? And then he’s too chicken to even post his
real address. I’m taking a break for a while so hope ya’ll amatures
can figure your own problems out… hope this a…@abc.com has all your
answers. be interesting to read what these "smart" people post as the
answers to your problems, if you get any at all.. ought to be good for
a few laughs anyway.. maybe he’s a better typist and speller that I am
to boot.. might be back, might not but don’t hold your breath.. I got
better things to do than help ya’ll for free and then get insulted

increase warranty life

If you own a nissan vehicle with a standard trans. and no cruise control,
dissconnect the speedometer and save those warranty miles.

Towards the end of the transmission is a small 2 inch high cylinder bolted
onto the transmission with two wires exiting.  Follow these wires to the
plug and dissconect.  Use vinly tape to protect the plug from weather.  The
service engine light will be on.  It has no effect on performance.

When the time comes and the vehicle needs to go in for service plug the
wires back together and disconnect the engines battery for about a half an
hour and the service engine light will go out.

I own a 96 PU and brought my yearly average of miles down to 12K miles a
year.  I usaully average about 34K – 38K miles a year with my commute.

Use your Tach as an indicator of speed.

Altima suspension noise

I have a 1997.5 Altima with about 14000 miles. Recently on occasion I have
begun to notice a noise under the front end when I hit minor bumps and
expansion joints. It doesn’t happen all the time and it seems to me to be a
bushing or loose mount type of noise. I have 20+ years experience as a
mechanic. The last 12 years are heavy truck and diesel for a fleet (not much
help in looking for car problems) . If anyone can offer any insight or
thoughts  I would be very grateful. I took a quick look under the car last
week but I found nothing out of the ordinary. The Nissan online mechanic
mentioned a problem with the front struts, can anyone elaborate? I don’t
want to pull the struts out just  for an inspection though.
TIA

4×4 navarra mods

I own an 88 Navarra 4×4 and I am looking into lifting the suspension. Is
there an  alternative to than just winding the torsion bars up ?  Any
comments would be appreciated.                  With Regards Gary Lyell.

Nissan Datsun Cherry 1.5 GL Update

Dear Nissan Experts,

Re: Previous posting regarding Nissan Datsun Cherry 1.5 GL (UK Model 1983)

If you are thinking about the cause of my problem, I have something that
might help you:

I changed all the spark plugs 3 months ago with Nissan’s recommended NGK
spark plugs.  When I was removing the old spark plugs, I noticed that one
was badly damaged (the last one, rightmost) and the others were OK; but a
bit dirty.  I hope this helps you.  Please help me.

Thanks.
