I have a ’85 200sx Turbo that I still like to drive, but the Turbo is really
loud and is starting to grind. I was wondering if there is a way to
deactive the Turbo (i.e. pinch off the vacuum line or something?). I asked
the dealer and they said that they are not allowed to perform this job in
their shop, but it sounded like it was possible.
Can anyone provide details on this?
Thanks, Kelly

I’m in the Dallas fort worth area and am interested if anyone knows good
places for descent parts. I’ve got a ’78 280 Z that needs some serious
work! I’m not out to cherry it out but a vintage sports car deserves some
respect. C’mon Z owners. Let me know!

I’ll add a plug for Brown and Brown Nissan in Tempe. Check the prices at
both; they both have good reputations. If you want, I’ll bore you with the
wonderful treatment given me by the Brown and Brown folks when I bought two
replacement wheels for my ’96 Maxima SE.

I know the title of this thread may have made some of you puke, but I just
have to ask.
On the way to work today I say a current generation Camry with an, uh,
Padded Vinyl Roof. Not just a vinyl roof, but one of those, uh, Padded
Vinyl Roofs. Like the ones that GM was putting on Caddy Coupe deVilles.
Dark blue, uh, Padded Vinyl Roof on a silver Camry. Even to top of the
doors, where they roll into the roof? THEY had little strips of, uh,
Padded Vinyl Roof on the top edge. So what are you supposed to think THAT
is when you open the door and see it sitting there. Looked like an, uh,
Padded Vinyl Roof Caterpillar.
So two questions…
1. Has anyone seen such a "decoration" on a 95+ Maxima? I’d like to think
that we Nissan-folk wouldn’t do this, but I’m just wondering…
2. So what do you call a car like this Camry with it’s, uh, Padded Vinyl
Roof? I know what a ricemobile is… what is this? A
Centrum-Silver-mobile? "Your over fifty, but still driving an import
sedan. You need an, uh, Padded Vinyl Roof…"
Just wondering,

For the last 5 years I have been touching up vehicles for auto dealerships.
What I have done is put together a touch-up system for your car using all
the tools and supplies I used at the dealerships. This is a
basecoat/clearcoat system like the factory uses. I custom mix the paint for
your car using your paint code so it is a great match. I can match any year
vehicle.

I’ve got the exact same problem with my ’85 Max. One dealer told me I
needed a new auxillary air regulator… Any help here would be appreciated.

I don’t know of an aftermaket changer (other then the FM-RF types).
These will work with any radio, but don’t offer the range and
performance of the factory changer. The car is pre-wired for the
factory changer. You might try looking for one from a damaged or
totaled Q. I believe 94, 95 and 96 are the same changers.
