2001 Nissan Quest GLE – Bad Gas Mileage?

Hello,

We purchased a used Nissan Quest a couple of months ago, and we really
enjoy it except for the gas mileage. We live in a hot climate, so we
usually have the AC turned on low (at 72 degrees). Most of the driving
we do is city driving. I know these factors lower the MPG, but we
consistently get only 14 to 15 MPG. Has anyone had similar experiences
with their Quest? We have the extended warranty, is there something
that likely needs servicing? The vehicle is in excellent shape with
only 38K miles.

Thanks for looking!

JUst got a 96 Pathfinder, a few problems that need help

I just got a ’96 Pathfinder, that aside from the following problems seems
really nice.

1) Previous owner’s dog liked to chew through all the seat belts – anyone
know where I can get a set (beige in color) ???

2) Rear shocks wobbly, went to replace them with better – but, upper
retaining bolts on both are seized.  Have already soaked them at least 6
times over the past day, and still wont budge.  Any suggestions out there ?

3) Due to the owner losing the Owner’s Manual, I dont have one – but, its on
order (should be about 4-6 weeks).  Previous owner claims that he never
noticed that the spare was missing (hope I can go 5 years without ever
needing it!).  Went to a salvage yard and got a full wheel and tire from a
wrecked Pathfinder for $35.  Now the problem is that I can’t seem to figure
out how to lower the chain that holds the spare under the vehicle.  I tried
inserting the long pole found under the back seat, but it doesnt seem to
attach to anything down the hole under the tailgate.  What the secret trick
to lowering the chain ???

Thanks !

93 sentra classic, electrical problem… help!!!!!!

It started with the battery light, very dimly lit, and whenever i
turned on the heating it would turn on even more, i thought it was the
battery connectors, so I changed them. It didn’t work, well it didn’t
light up as much as it did before but still would turn on.

After a while, whenever I would hit the brakes the "headlight sign" on
my dashboard turns on, and now, the gas meter and the heat meter often
don’t work and then all of a sudden work and the drops the needles
again.

Any ideas what it could be?

I have done some research about it, and I’m beginning to think that is
the alternator, but the descirptions of the battery and brake lights
are not the same.

Pleeeease help!!!

2005 Murano

Just purchased a 2005 Murano SL AWD and would like to know if using premium
grade gas is really necessary or will using regular be ok. Owner’s manual
isn’t very clear except to say that for best performance use high test,
won’t be racing just city driving. Thanks

2005 Nissan Quest – mp3 player and id3 tags on dash?

I just bought a new Nissan Quest.  Liking it a lot, but I’d like to add
an mp3 player.  Because of the location of the CD player, navigating
folders or knowing what I’m listening to is going to be impossible,
since you wouldn’t be able to see the CD player’s display while
driving.  Since the radio sends text to the console display (with song
name, etc), I was wondering if there was some way to have that
information sent from the mp3 player to the dash as well.

Nissan doesn’t sell an mp3 player and since neither the service guy,
the people at CarToys/Best Buy/Circuit City knew, I thought I’d ask the
group.

Thank!

New tires for my 2004 Nissan Quest

Hi all,

It’s time to replace the tires on my 04 Quest…  stock is 225/65-16.
However, those don’t seem to be too common.

My local WM’s don’t carry any tires in that size & TireRack.com has exactly
1 kind – the same GoodYear Eagles that are on it now.

I’m going to go with a close, but different size to give me more flexibility
on choice & better prices, but I’m not sure which to pick.

Original: 225/65-16 – radius = 13.8

Size1: 215/65-16 (45 choices at TR) – radius = 13.5
Size2: 225/60-16 (114 choices at TR) – radius = 13.3
Size3: 215/60-16 (74 choices at TR) – radius = 13.1
Size4: 235/65-16 (47 choices at TR) – radius = 14.0
Size5: 235/60-15 (47 choices at TR) – radius = 13.6

Anyone have an opinion on which of these might be the best choice?  It’s a
minivan, so I’m not looking for crazy performance – just safe, solid
handling and a reasonable price.

#1 is close in radius, but I’m not sure what kind of handling impact
narrower tires would have.  #2 keeps the orig width and is the most common,
but it’s also a whole 1/2" smaller.  Not sure if I’d have problems with the
greater width in 4 or 5 on the Quest.

Help ! 1996 Pathfinder Wobble

At highway speeds I sometimes get a wobble which seems to start in the
rear of the vehicle.  It feels like it is up and down and/or side to
side. It usually starts on a curve or if the roadway is bumpy and/or
uneven.   I’ve replaced the rear shocks and have inspected the rubber
bushings, sway bar and rear springs.  Nothing appears to be worn or
cracked.  Has anyone else experienced this and found the solution to
this problem? Also,  I’m wondering if this is common problem for
Pathfinders.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA

my ’99 Maxima SE 5Speed the clutch will make a groaning noise after several
repeated
start and stop cycles. It’s been doing this for at least three years now and
doesn’t seem to be causing any problems. Any idea what causes this noise?
Thanks in Advance
